Terms of Service — Common Sense Quarterly

Last Updated: February 18, 2026

These Terms supplement the Ecosystem Terms of Service and apply specifically to commonsensequarterly.com ("CSQ" or the "Platform").

1. Operator Terms

Operators are individuals or organizations that create and manage postcard editions on the Platform. By becoming an Operator, you agree to:

  • Subscription: Maintain an active subscription ($99/quarter, up to 5 active editions) to launch and manage editions
  • Stripe Connect: Connect your own Stripe account to receive payouts. You are responsible for complying with Stripe's terms and maintaining your account in good standing
  • Printing & mailing: You are solely responsible for printing and mailing postcards via USPS EDDM. LPM provides the platform and content; LPM is not the printer or mailer
  • Proof of mailing: You must upload proof of EDDM mailing (PS Form 3587, receipt, or tracking) to release held profit. Failure to provide proof may result in refunds to sponsors
  • Revenue share: LPM retains 15% of gross ad revenue (10% for enterprise partners) before operator payouts
  • Edition management: You are responsible for managing your edition lifecycle (selling, locking, printing, delivering)
  • Content review: You may edit operator-delegated content boxes (local government, community calendar). All civic content undergoes editorial review
  • ZIP exclusivity: Each ZIP code can have only one active edition at a time across the entire platform

2. Sponsor Terms

Sponsors are local businesses that purchase advertising spots on postcard editions. By purchasing a spot, you agree to:

2.1 Delayed Capture Payment Model

  • Your payment is authorized but not charged at time of purchase
  • Funds are captured only when the operator locks the edition for printing
  • If the edition is not locked before your authorization expires, no charge is made
  • You will receive a refund if the operator fails to provide proof of mailing

2.2 Merchant of Record

For sponsor spot purchases, the operator (via their connected Stripe account) is the merchant of record. LPM acts as the platform facilitating the transaction. Payment disputes should first be directed to the operator; the Platform will assist with resolution if needed.

2.3 Public Display of Business Information

By purchasing a spot, you consent to the public display of your business name, tagline, phone number, and website on:

  • Printed EDDM postcards delivered to households
  • Digital landing pages on commonsensequarterly.com
  • Digital hub pages associated with the edition
  • QR code-linked offer pages

2.4 Refund Policy

  • Before edition lock: Your payment authorization can be cancelled (no charge made)
  • After edition lock, before mailing: Refunds available if the operator fails to mail within a reasonable timeframe
  • After confirmed mailing: No refunds (the postcard has been printed and delivered)
  • Proof of mailing failure: If the operator cannot provide mailing proof, sponsors receive a full refund

3. Civic Content Production

Civic education content on CSQ postcards and digital hubs is produced using AI-assisted research tools and undergoes lawyer review and editorial oversight before publication. Despite editorial review:

  • Information about local officials, meeting schedules, and government offices may be outdated or inaccurate
  • Community calendar events may have changed since publication
  • Founding principle explanations are educational summaries, not legal interpretations

Always verify government information directly with your local government offices.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

Sponsor ad content must not include:

  • False, misleading, or deceptive claims
  • Content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory
  • Political campaign advertising or partisan political messaging
  • Content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
  • Adult content, gambling, or controlled substances
  • Content that violates USPS EDDM regulations

LPM reserves the right to reject or remove any sponsor content that violates this policy.

5. Full Terms
